Boom Boom was in the best bowling form of his career. The penetration he has managed to get through his bowling is simply amazing. He looks like taking a wicket every ball. His googlies are spinning major time, creating gaps between bat and pad and hammering off stumps on regular basis. His leg spinners are turning too creating stumping opportunities and catches in the out field. His top spinners / flippers skid on with deadly accuracy and his faster one' are being delivered at devilish speeds. Afridi looks all set to bamboozle batsmen in this world cup. One might argue that he is yet to be tested against better players of spin but a counter argument to that is his performance (again a match winning one) against Sri Lanka.
He just reminds you of Saqlain Mushtaq during the earlier part of his career, who like Afridi was a wicket taking machine back then. It is really refreshing to see a wrist spinner dominating the 50 over game like this. Afridi is keeping the art of leg spin alive. Over the years he has truly transformed into a world class spinner. Its sad that his exploits are confined to the limited over games because he definitely would've been a handful in test matches as well (had he persisted with the format).

But as for now, let us rejoice the artistry of a true magician. One of the most lethal bowlers and batsmen in world cricket and an absolute crowd puller.

Great work Boom Boom!
